You can listen to moderan music at: Acid Planet, Hear Me Out, iLike, JamWave, Last.Fm, My Space, and the 61.
You can listen to any of the tracks listed below without downloading at my streaming utility. Sometimes works-in-progress and other surprises end up there as well.
Suite Indigo This is the full-length, instrumental version of the cd, @45 minutes of music that is based on the "novel" version of Blue Easter. The vocal version is slated for release sometime in 2010.
NaSoAlMo CD Written, performed, and recorded during November 2008, in tandem with the NaNoWriMo novel "Milk", this is the complete 35-minute album, including the track Blues For Dave, which isn't here as an individual offering. Lots of people I know are named Dave. That piece is for all of them.
Arson (alternate version) A newer version of the altrock tune, still without the vox, but with some additional guitar tracks and a slightly different middle eight.
Burning Chrome An unreleased instrumental track, a little futuristic, named after the William Gibson short story and employing some of the techniques used to make the last version of "Herd"
Bystander (alt version) Alternate version of the track with a strange synthesizer intro and coda that won't make it onto the cd.
Chrome Dive Bar Unreleased track done for RPM 2009, intended as a country parody with a narrative involving a rock musician having to play country to survive. Might get finished one day. Has some nice chicken-pickin' by both myself and the anonymous donor to Band in a Box 2008.
Easy Another unreleased track, intended for a collaboration that might still happen. Just waiting for more guitar and some vox-intentionally 80s arena-rock flavored.
Flat Baroque A track from the NaSoAlMo cd
Killer in the Rain An alternate version of Steely Dan imitation track, with some different keyboard sounds. Still can't come up with the right set of lyrics for this one.
Midnight Drive By The Lake Ambient track from NaSoAlMo cd
Moon A version of Beatlesque symphonic tune. Still working out the bugs on this one.
Moon (alt) Another version. I have a few more...the flow isn't quite right and the bridge isn't completed yet. This one has more melodic parts that'll likely be scrapped.
One the Acid Exchange has an annual Art Bomb in which we do themed tracks. This is my 2009 entry.
Pavane (alt version) This tune was originally written as an exercise-I wanted to see if I could imitate the sound and arrangement/orchestration style of Genesis circa "Trespass". I liked the result so much that I've done a few alt-takes and am planning a couple more.
White Horse NaSoAlMo track written for my grand-daughter. Meant to feel like a carnival, with the white horse going up and down on the carousel.
Wizard Waltz Slightly different version than what appears on the NaSoAlMo cd.
I'm also working on a number of tracks with members of the Acid Exchange, which are slated to appear on two separate cds. One is a house band sort of thing with some blues covers and rock originals. The musicians involved (well, except for me) are all topnotch, with participants like Blue Attitude, Jay P. Lindsay, the Beatman, Windpoem, Trevitte Brown, and others. The other is an ambitious project featuring a long progrock track about a postnuclear society and original electronic music. Some folks are in both bands, such as the ambient/electronic artist Goxnadly, who is a damn fine blues singer, keyboardist/producer Rick Winslow, Karl "Cutts" Cook, and myself. You can read more about the progress of these projects at my blog. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the music!
